Historical
sites are a testimony to every countrys civilisation and cultural
heritage, bridging the gap between past and present and instilling
a sense of belonging, and the desire to maintain their invaluable
legacy.
The Muang Sing Historical Park in Kanchanaburi
is Thailands first historical
park officially opened in 1987. Today, 10 historical parks have
been opened, three of which have been designated World Heritage
Sites.
The 10 historical parks
are Muang Singh, Phanom Rung, Sukhothai,
Si Satchanalai, Kamphaeng Phet, Sri Thep, Phimai, Ayutthaya,
Phra Nakhon Khiri and Phu Phra Bat. They result from the work of
the Fine Arts Department in excavating, rebuilding and landscaping
