Royal Project Development Center, Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province

The Center is situated at Moo 4, Baan Om Pai, Pa Pae Sub-district, Mae Sa Liang, Mae Hong Son Province. It is at 800-1,000 meters above mean sea level, occupies 86.64 square kilometers or 54,105 rai, and has an average temperature of 22 Celsius.

Visitors are welcome to join :

Activities

  • visit hill-tribe plots of vegetables such as caulifl owers and pumpkin
  • see cold-climate fruits such as Japanese apricots, Chinese pears, and passionfruit
  • learn about the way of life of Karen and Lua (Lawa) hill-tribes. You can often see the women working on their backstrap looms. Men are skilled at basket weaving and produce large baskets to store rice or clothes

Tradition and Culture

  • visit Ban Lua Museum to learn about the culture of hill-tribes
  • see hill-tribe handicrafts such as cloth-weaving and knife-making

Trekking Sites

  • visit Mae Kok Waterfall (rainy season), Ban Noi Waterfall (rainy season) and Ban Hak Mai Tai Waterfall (every season)
