Royal Project Development Center, Mae Wang District, Chiang

The Center is situated at Mu 12, Mae Win, Mae Wang District,
Chiang Mai Province at 1,280 meters above sea level with an average
temperature of 19.5 Celsius and an average rainfall of 2,137 mm.
per year. The inhabitants are Karen and Hmong hill-tribe people.

Activities
- visit demonstration plots of cold-climate fruits
- tour greenhouses for chrysanthemums - the plants are grown and
displayed primarily for scientifi c and educational purposes
- see harvesting of tea-leaves and manufacturing of Chinese tea
at Khun Mae Wak Sub-Unit
Tradition and Culture
- experience Hmong and Karen hill-tribe way of life
- see hill-tribe handicrafts, such as wickerwork, silverware production,
weaving clothes, knife making, and cross-stitching
Trekking Sites
- Pha Dam Waterfall a 2.5 kilometer walk from the Center
to watch rare local and foreign birds
- Tae Lae Po Waterfall a small waterfall set in the midst
of jungle and a Karen lodge
- Pa Ngaem high cliffs with groves of blossoming rhododendrons
in February and March
